How do I reset my Voicemail password?

Article SummaryThis article explains how staff can reset their college voice mail using email. This article is intended for staff at all campuses.

Note:  Your voicemail password is also called your voicemail PIN.

To reset your voicemail password - online 

You must use Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer for these steps. Other browsers have issues that require advanced steps to resolve that are beyond the scope of this article.
  1. You can reset your own voice mail password by going to the online voice mail portal ( Note: This requires you to be connected to the college network on campus or via VPN from home. For help with VPN, see - What is VPN?
  2. You will be prompted to install Cisco Media Control, if it is not installed on your system. Select Install and accept the following prompt.
Note: If you see a security certificate alert as shown below, do not be alarmed it is expected and normal. You can safely click Yes and continue.

  1. You can now enter your college network user name and password. Select Log In.
  2. Select Cisco Personal Communications Assistant.
  3. Select Messaging Assistant.
  4. From the menu at the top of the screen select Passwords > Change PIN.
  5. You will be prompted to enter a new PIN, and re-enter it to confirm.
  • Your new PIN must be 6 digits long.
  • Your new PIN can not be 3 or more of the same digits in a row.
  • Your new PIN can not be only digits from the same row on the telephone.
  • You can not reuse your previous PIN.
  1. Press Save when you are done entering your new PIN.

A message will be displayed saying your PIN has been successfully changed.

Don't forget to logout when you are done.

To reset your voicemail password - Cisco Self Care

You can optionally log into the Cisco Unified Communications Self Care Portal to change your PIN.

  1. Go to the Cisco Unified Communications Self Care Portal.
  2. Login using your college network username and password.
  3. Select General Settings.
  4. Where it says New Phone PIN, enter your new PIN. The rules for choosing your PIN are numbers only, no spaces, must be at least 1 number, and no longer than 128 numbers.
  5. Enter your PIN where it says confirm.
  6. Click your username in the top right corner, and select Sign Out.
Note:  Your voicemail password is also called your voicemail PIN.
