Article SummaryYes, Windows and driver updates can help your wireless connection function better.

Yes they can. If you do not perform your system and driver updates for your computer or device, you may experience wireless connection and other problems.

Updates stabilize and fix key systems on your computer or device as well as sometimes add features and new capabilities.

Most importantly, update your network drivers to the most recent version by applying your Windows Updates to your computer.
Also ensure you have up-to-date anti-virus software (How can students protect their computers from viruses?) and a personal firewall on your computer.

Caution! If you don't perform regular updates, you will leave your computer open to risks and may even prevent a wireless connection from working at all. Always perform any available updates!
