Article SummaryGuests of the college can use the ACGuest wireless network. It is not intended for regular business activities, only for guest Internet and email over Internet.
Answer
No. The ACGuest wireless network is to be used for personal and non-commercial use on campus only.
ACGuest does not provide guaranteed bandwidth or quality that is often required for business applications.

If you are a student or college staff member, you need to connect with ACSecure. For help see - How do I connect to the ACSecure college wireless network?

If ITS determines that you are using ACGuest for commercial purposes, your devices will be banned from the network.

Note:  ACGuest is an open guest network. It is not secure. Algonquin College recommends that to protect your information when using ACGuest, send information only to sites that are fully encrypted, and avoid using mobile apps that require personal or financial information. Use a virtual private network (VPN) service to encrypt traffic between your computer and the internet whenever possible - for help with VPN, see What is VPN?. Staff, Faculty and Students of Algonquin College should always use ACSecure. For more information on data privacy see the Algonquin College Information Security website.
